Sell (or Donate) Your Stuff
Bring by the items you’d like to sell (no appointment necessary) through the front entrance and proceed to the black counter straight ahead. The employee there will scan through your items and let you know what we can and can’t buy. Processing times may vary. The condition of your items will impact what we can and can’t buy. Anything we can’t buy, you can either take them back or donate them to us for a 15% off coupon to use the same day or save for another time. It really is that easy!
Drive around the back of the store (around the side closest to CVS) to the silver garage door (no appointment necessary). Ring the bell to the left of the door and someone will be out to assist you. It may take a few minutes for an employee to reach the back of the store, so please wait before ringing the bell a second time. We are able to bring a canvas bin right out to your car to collect your items to make it quick and easy. We recommend doing this Monday through Thursday before 4 PM, otherwise we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to process your items the same day you drop them off. If you do bring a large amount to sell outside of these hours, we may ask you to leave your items with your name and phone number to be processed at a later date. Once we get a chance to process your items (likely the next business day), we’ll give you a call to let you know what we can offer. You can still choose to keep or donate the items we can’t buy when you sell around back. The process is the same in the back as it is in the front. So why bring items around back? There’s more space to work in the back and large quantities being sold won’t hold up the customers trying to sell just a few items. Plus, it’s easier for an employee to assist in bringing your items inside.
What Do We Buy?
Find a detailed list below of the items we may or may not buy, and any information you may need to go along with each. Still have questions or is something unclear? Give us a call at 781-272-6650 and we’ll do our best to find you an answer.
While it’s not required for you to sort your items into what we can and cannot buy, it is encouraged and appreciated, and there’s no need to be perfect. Whether or not your items are sorted will likely impact processing times and what we can offer you for your items.
What Do You Get When You Sell?
All our offers are made in store credit. Credit never expires and can be redeemed for 50% in cash at any time. Have $20 in store credit? Redeem it for $10 in cash whenever you want to!

Store credit is saved in our system on an account with your first and last name, and the last four digits of your phone number to differentiate between accounts with the same name.

- Harry Potter
- Stephen King
- Fantasy
- Science fiction
- Classic literature (as defined by us)
- Manga
- Graphic novels
- Music and entertainment biographies
- Art
- Philosophy
- Franklin Press
- Easton Press
Any books we can’t buy, you can donate them to us for a 15% off coupon to use the same day or save for another time (there are certain items we can’t take even as donation; we cannot take encyclopedias, law book collections, magazines, VHS tapes, or cassette tapes).
If you want to learn more, read on: We use a system built from the ground up solely for this purpose: assessing what books are best for our store. The system scans each book’s ISBN and uses the store’s inventory to see how many copies we currently have of that book, how much we sell that book for, and how quickly that book sells. All three factors combine to determine which books we can and can’t buy. Condition may impact what we can buy from you. The type of binding (hardcover, paperback, or mass market) does not impact whether or not we can buy a book. Even if a certain author is really popular or well-known, we may not be able to buy any or all of their books due to the guidelines above. Even if a book has been published in the last 10 years, we may not be able to buy it if we have too many copies or if it doesn’t sell well in our store.
We buy the following items as described:
- New, plastic-wrapped single DVDs (including double features)
- New OR used Blu-rays
- New OR used DVD boxsets
We’ll scan the items you bring by and give you an offer. We are unable to quote individual prices for each item. Our offer will be based on all the items you brought, collectively. We may not be able to buy certain items based on our intake, if they’re damaged or missing a disc, if they’re missing their sleeves, if they aren’t playable in the US, if they can’t be scanned, etc.
We scan each item using a system built from the ground up for this specific purpose: determining which items the store needs based on how many we have, how quickly the item sells, and how much we sell the item for.
We are unable to buy HD DVDs, VHS tapes, and cassette tapes. We cannot take VHS tapes or cassette tapes even as donation.
We can buy video games as long as they have a scannable barcode. What we offer for video games varies from game to game. We cannot buy damaged video games, games missing their cover art, or games with heavily marked cases (from the library or for rental purposes). We may be unable to buy certain games based on their type and for what console they’re playable on.
We CAN buy loose cartridges, but not loose discs. It will take longer for us to process them since they aren’t scannable.
For video game consoles and accessories, there is someone who can take a look at what you bring by, however, she isn’t available every day. If you are comfortable, you can leave any consoles or accessories with your name and phone number with us, and we can give you a call with what we can offer once we get a chance to look over what you’re selling.
We buy most records for a flat rate (current [2000s on] or popular music may be for more), but the kind you bring and their quality may affect the rate. Records must have their original sleeves and be in good or better condition for us to buy. We are unable to buy scratched or loose records, 45s, 78s, or classical or show tune records.
Any records we’re unable to buy, you can donate them to us for a 15% off coupon to use the same day or save for another time.
We can only take CDs as donation. You can get a 15% off coupon when donating CDs.
We buy most comic books for a flat rate, but the type you bring and their quality may affect the rate. Comic books must be in good or better condition for us to buy. Depending on how many you bring at once, we may ask you to leave your comic books with us with your name and phone number and we may have to process them at a later date. We’ll call you to let you know what we can offer as soon as we are able.
We don’t buy puzzles or board games, but you can donate them to us for a 15% off coupon to use the same day or save for another time.
We buy Beanie Babies for a flat rate as long as they are clean and still have their original tags attached. The larger Beanie Babies we buy for the same rate as the standard-sized ones. The smaller Beanie Babies (like the ones from McDonald’s) we can only take as donation.
